About the role

About the job: Piper Maddox has partnered with a hyper-growth, venture-backed proptech company to find an experienced Sales Director to lead direct, new-business sales into multifamily real estate owners and operators across the East Coast. Our client gives multifamily and commercial real estate owners a way to install smart EV charging with minimal IT infrastructure requirements, removing one of the biggest adoption barriers property owners face today. They're trusted by a number of leading enterprise and institutional real estate names. This is a Director-level individual contributor role covering the East Coast territory, from Florida through Boston. It's a direct sales position, not channel or partnership-based, with roughly 75% of the focus on new business development and 25% on existing accounts. The role is remote-first, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Eastern time zone. Travel is limited to roughly once per quarter, typically for a conference or HQ visit.
What You'll Do: Own revenue targets and the full sales cycle for a defined East Coast territory Originate and close new business directly with multifamily owner-operators, developers, and asset managers Manage and grow a smaller book of existing accounts Sell to senior-level real estate executives, including developers, property managers, and REIT leadership Build and defend proposals around a low-friction, low-IT-lift EV charging model Manage the full deal cycle independently — prospecting, proposal, negotiation, close Represent the company at real estate, energy, and proptech industry events Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting in Salesforce What You'll Need 5+ years of B2B sales experience in proptech, selling hardware and/or software directly into multifamily owner-operators Proven direct sales experience! This is not a channel or partner-led roleA strong hunter mentality, with a track record of originating and closing new business Comfortable operating independently in a remote environment Bachelor's degree preferred Experience with Salesforce, Google Suite, and Slack
Nice to Have: EV charging experience, specifically selling into the multifamily market (fleet or fast-charging-only experience is not directly relevant)Experience closing portfolio-level or multi-site agreements, not just single-property deals

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
