About the role
Global Underwriting Manager - General LiabilityAXA XL's Global Casualty Underwriting office is seeking a Global Underwriting Manager to act as a liability product strategist and drive underwriting excellence and shape product strategy across our liability portfolio. This influential role focuses on developing and implementing global product standards, identifying emerging risks, and supporting the GCUO with strategic insights, without direct people management responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and review insurance contract wordings in conjunction with Legal and Wordings teams
- Lead underwriting portfolio reviews to identify trends and recommend remediation actions
- Issue Global Product Standards that define product risk appetite and drive technical excellence
- Deploy Global Casualty Product strategy, frameworks, and controls across the network
- Collaborate with Governance, AXA XL Risk Management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office
- Support Energy Transition initiatives, analytics, and sustainability reporting aligned with AXA's strategic plan
- Provide expert guidance on portfolio management and profitability insights
- Coordinate training materials and support delivery of underwriting strategy
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proven US Casualty underwriting experience
- Construction and/or Energy sector background preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalentCPCU, ACII, or similar professional designation preferred
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to work virtually across geographies and cultures~10% travel anticipated
