Remote Reader Radiologist / Teleradiologist (MD/DO)
Position Summary: The Remote Reader Radiologist provides professional diagnostic imaging interpretation services from a remote location. This role focuses on accurate, timely interpretation of medical imaging studies across multiple modalities, supporting clinical decision-making while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and patient safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Interpret diagnostic imaging studies remotely, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities consistent with training and privilegesProvide timely, accurate, and high-quality radiology reports in accordance with established turnaround timesCommunicate urgent or critical findings promptly to referring cliniciansCollaborate with on-site radiology staff, technologists, and ordering providers as neededEnsure compliance with imaging protocols, quality standards, and reporting guidelinesParticipate in peer review, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiativesMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and reportingUtilize PACS, RIS, and voice recognition systems effectivelyAdhere to all regulatory, licensure, accreditation, and professional standardsParticipate in scheduled shifts, after-hours, or weekend coverage as required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited diagnostic radiology residency programFellowship training in a radiology subspecialty preferred but not requiredBoard-eligible or board-certified in Diagnostic RadiologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted medical licensure in required statesEligibility for hospital credentialing and privilegingDEA registration or eligibility, if required Skills and Competencies Expertise in diagnostic imaging interpretationStrong attention to detail and diagnostic accuracyAbility to work independently in a remote environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with PACS/RIS and teleradiology platformsCommitment to quality, efficiency, and patient safety Work Environment Fully remote or home-based work environmentShift-based or flexible scheduling depending on service needsMay include nights, weekends, or overnight coverage Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing imaging studiesVisual acuity sufficient for detailed image interpretationManual dexterity for computer-based work
