Position Overview:
A well-established multi-hospital health system in Thomasville is seeking a BC/BE Pathologist to join its employed medical group. This opportunity offers the ability to practice within a robust, CAP-accredited laboratory system supporting multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities across South Georgia. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to contribute to departmental growth, laboratory leadership, and expansion of diagnostic services.
Position Highlights:
Employed position within an established regional health system Opportunities for shared or independent medical director responsibilities CAP-accredited laboratory system with strong regional presence High-volume core laboratory processing approximately 2-3 million tests annually Broad pathology exposure across multiple specialties including: General Surgery Orthopedics OB/GYN Gastroenterology ENT Urology Radiology Interventional Radiology Neurosurgery Advanced microbiology department with strong regional reputation Dedicated immunology department supporting gel interpretation and allergy testing Roche platform utilized as primary laboratory vendor Opportunity to collaborate closely with laboratory leadership and clinical teams Ability to help develop and expand diagnostic testing services Clinical Responsibilities Interpret a broad range of anatomic and clinical pathology cases Provide consultative pathology support to clinical teams Collaborate on laboratory operations and departmental advancement Participate in diagnostic service expansion initiatives Contribute to quality improvement and laboratory excellence across the health system
Qualifications:
MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology Strong AP/CP skill set required Eligible for Georgia medical licensure Strong communication and leadership abilities Interest in regional pathology service development preferred
