Machinist 2nd Shift$25$27/HR 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM10:30 PM Training on 1st Shift: 6:00 AM2:00 PM for approximately 2 weeks ? Must be able to work 10-hour shifts Overtime on weekends as needed Are you mechanically minded and ready to build your machining skills? Let's Work "Beyond Staffing" is looking for a Machinist to set up and operate manual machines in a manufacturing environment.
Position Summary: The Machinist is responsible for operating one or more types of manual machines, selecting appropriate tooling and settings, maintaining tight tolerances, and making adjustments as necessary. The Machinist will also perform tooling changeovers, maintain an organized work area, and follow established quality and safety standards.
Essential Functions: Set up and operate various manual machines Read blueprints and calculate dimensions and tolerances Use mathematics and precision measuring/gaging instruments, including: Micrometers Vernier calipers Calipers Rulers/scales Bore gauges Depth gauges I.D./O.D. thread gauges Gauge blocks Understand TIR/concentricity Understand speeds and feeds Understand general machining principles Understand basic GD&T and dimensioning practices Identify and analyze tooling, including: Taps End mills Drills Groove tools And other machining tools Perform tooling changeovers Maintain safe operations by following machine safety procedures and regulations Perform first- and last-part inspections Maintain an organized work area Perform basic computer functions
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Technical schooling or degree preferred 01 year of related experience and/or training on Bridgeport-style mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment Ability to read basic blueprints and technical drawings Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently Ability to use various inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and related tools Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to follow established quality and safety standards
Physical Requirements:
  • Candidates must be able to: Stand for extended periods of time Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently Bend, kneel, and stoop frequently Work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks Follow all safety requirements Work in small areas as needed to perform the job Climb step ladders as needed
