About the role
Qwest Electric is hiring a highly skilled Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager with experience in commercial and data center electrical projects. We are a commercial and industrial electrical contractor known for design-build and design-assist work on projects such as distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, healthcare facilities, schools, data centers and institutional buildings. The QA/QC Manager has experience working with project managers, superintendents, field crews and general contractors to identify issues and ensure electrical work is installed correctly and ready for inspection ensuring compliance with industry standards, owner requirements, and regulatory codes.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
Perform QA/QC inspections of electrical installations on data center and commercial projects.
Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and installation requirements.
Inspect conduit, cable tray, supports, equipment, grounding, feeders, branch circuits, and electrical rooms.
Verify installations meet project drawings, specifications, NEC requirements, and company standards.
Identify deficiencies and work with field supervision to correct issues before inspections and turnover.
Maintain QA/QC checklists and documentation.
Assist with punch lists and track items through completion.
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, and other trades.
Verify equipment installations, labeling, clearances, and workmanship.
Assist with testing, commissioning, and project closeout as required.
Monitor work in progress to catch quality issues before they require rework.
What we’re looking for:
Preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of electrical construction experience, including field supervision and QA/QC responsibilities, with at least 1 year in data center construction, or an equivalent combination of education, knowledge, and experience. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, high-voltage distribution, and critical cooling infrastructure. Proficiency with construction project management software (CxAlloy, Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent). Required Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchasing, billing and cost tracking. Strong organization, time management and follow-through skills. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite. Valid driver’s license and ability to visit project sites in the Charlotte Metro area. Education High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
