Title: Manager, Commercial Assets – Energy Infrastructure
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $130,000–$160,000 base + annual performance bonus
Work Environment: NYC headquarters with regular travel to project sites throughout the five boroughs We are seeking an experienced Manager, Commercial Assets to oversee the commercial, contractual, and financial performance of a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure assets. This position will serve as the commercial owner of operating assets, with responsibility for P&L management, contracts, warranties and claims, vendor performance, leases, insurance, regulatory obligations, and key stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial or contract management within energy, infrastructure, construction, renewables, or a related industry and has personally owned contracts and claims from execution through resolution.
Key Responsibilities: Own portfolio-level P&L, budgeting, forecasting, budget-versus-actual reporting, and variance analysis Manage OEM Long-Term Service Agreements, equipment warranties, and other major commercial agreements Prepare, file, negotiate, and manage warranty and contractual claims through final recovery Enforce SLAs, performance guarantees, contractual obligations, credits, and remedies Manage vendor contracts from execution through renewal, renegotiation, or termination Monitor vendor performance and address contractual or SLA deficiencies Review and approve controllable operating expenses and invoices against contractual requirements Manage leases, interconnection agreements, insurance policies, permits, and other site-level commercial obligations Maintain commercial risk and contractual obligation registers Coordinate commercial handover of new projects from development and construction into operations Manage relationships with property owners, utilities, municipal agencies, OEMs, and other counterparties Support procurement, purchase-order workflows, and payment controls Produce monthly commercial and financial reporting for senior leadership Help build scalable commercial asset management processes, systems, and eventually a broader commercial team
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience 7+ years of commercial, contract, or asset management experience within energy, infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewables, or a related field 3+ years directly accountable for contracts, commercial assets, or a portfolio Demonstrated experience preparing, negotiating, and resolving warranty or contractual claims Experience owning budgets or P&Ls, including forecasting and variance reporting Strong understanding of commercial contracts, including SLAs, warranties, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, caps, exclusions, and remedies Experience managing vendors and enforcing contractual performance Strong organizational, negotiation, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred Experience: Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, or power infrastructureOEM LTSAs, equipment warranties, and performance guarantees Utility or interconnection agreementsNYC property owner, utility, or municipal agency coordination Con Edison, VDER, or NYISO exposure Insurance administration and claims Experience building a commercial, contracts, procurement, or asset-management function
