About the role

Senior Accountant New York, NY | Remote (US, East Coast hours) | Occasional travel The Opportunity Hoxton Circle is partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed company that is scaling through acquisition. This is a newly created Senior Accountant role with ownership of close and reporting across multiple entities, and real exposure to senior leadership. It’s a strong next step for someone who wants to grow toward a Controller role.
What You’ll Be Doing: Owning the month-end close and full financial statement reporting across a portfolio of entities. Presenting monthly results and variance analysis to senior business leaders. Onboarding newly acquired entities and supporting purchase accounting. Reviewing reconciliations, supporting audit and tax, and improving close efficiency through automation.
Who You Are: You have 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally starting in public accounting audit before moving into industry, with hands-on close experience in a larger ERP environment. You have strong US GAAP knowledge and full financial statement preparation experience. Multi-entity, M&A integration or PE-backed experience and a CPA (earned or in progress) are strongly preferred. You communicate numbers clearly to non-accountants, stay organized in a demanding close, and thrive in a fast-moving business. Hoxton Circle and our clients are equal opportunity employers. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
