About the role

Service Sales & Advisor PersonThe Service Sales & Advisor is responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with industry-related customers while actively growing new business. The role combines customer relationship management, technical service estimating, aggressive sales activities, including cold-calling, on-site visits, and cross-department sales collaboration. This position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring accurate estimates, proper work authorizations, compliance with both customers and Company billing requirements, and assistance with collection of timely payments for all services and parts sold.Areas of Responsibilities and Duties:Customer Relationship Development Build, develop and maintain strong professional relationships with industry-related customersConduct frequent on-site visits to customer locations to understand needs, strengthen relationships and provide written estimates for service work.Engage in proactive sales activities such as cold-calling, lead follow-up, networking and referrals.Provide ongoing consultation and education to customers about available services, products, service and repair options.Provide trust and credibility by consistently delivering on promises and providing high-quality service.Sales and Service Estimating Continually learn and expand knowledge of truck and trailer structure and mechanical systems to accurately diagnose and estimate service needs.Prepare and present accurate service estimates for truck and trailer assets, ensuring all required work is clearly defined.Collect detailed customer profiles: Specific part requirements or preferencesStandard repair rate maximumsBilling contacts and billing submission requirements such as; photos, inspections billing platform integration, purchase order requirementsWork authorization requirementsCommunicate all customer profile requirements to appropriate departments and personnel on a regular and ongoing basis.Obtain work authorizations and purchase orders before work begins to ensure Company is paid for all work performed and parts sold.Customer Education and Compliance with Credit/ Payment Terms Clearly communicate company credit and payment policies to all customers.Assist in collection efforts when customer accounts become delinquent or when COD payment is required.Follow all Company billing, credit and payment policies and proceduresCross Department Collaboration Work closely with service supervisors or managers and shop personnel to coordinate resources, labor and scheduling to meet customer expectations and Company productivity goals.Understand the abilities and productivity of the Tech pool completing your customer's work to ensure that estimates will result in profitabilityCommunicate with parts department, accounting and other departments to ensure customer expectations are met.Collaborate with other sales departments (parts and equipment sales) to maximize customer relationship by widening the scope of products offered to customer.Administration and Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, profiles and service history within the Company's CRM.Prepare and submit activity reports, including sales calls, customer visits, pipeline updates and closed deals as requested by Sales ManagerAttend sales and operational meetings, training sessions and company functions as requiredQualifications:Must be able to read and write in English in order to create written estimates and communicate with customersAnalyze and diagnose structural and mechanical issues relating to trucks and trailersDetailed knowledge of all truck and trailer mechanical systems and partsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentProven experience in sales, service advising, or related customer-facing role within the trucking, trailer or heavy equipment industry preferred.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and aggressively pursue new sales opportunitiesExcellent organizational skills with attention to detail in customer records, estimates and billing requirementsProficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office and billing platformsValid driver's license and be insurable on Company's auto liability policy.Have a reliable form of transportation and is able to travel frequently for on-site customer visitsAble to pass background checkProven mechanical acuity and basic math skillsPhysical Requirements:Able to pass drug testAble to work in uncomfortable conditions (heat, cold, small spaces)Able to stand on one's feet for prolonged periodsAble to climb into or under trailers to inspect for damagePerformance Metrics:Meet or achieve monthly/quarterly/ annual sales goalsGrowth of assigned customer accounts and acquisition of new customersCustomer satisfaction and retention levelsAccuracy of service estimates and level of profitability attainedCompliance with customer and Company billing/ authorization requirementsAssistance with timely resolution of delinquent accounts and collection of COD paymentsThis job description is intended to outline the primary duties, responsibilities, and qualifications associated with this position.
