Senior Refrigeration Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Refrigeration Specialist is a subject matter expert within the industrial refrigeration systems team and has the ability to function autonomously in technical matters related to industrial refrigeration. This person will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the refrigeration systems for the company. Establish and manage the routine & predictive refrigeration equipment maintenance program which adheres to national codes and commonly accepted industry practices. Manages the safety requirements of the job and assists with developing best practices for the refrigeration systems in the plant. Performs routine & predictive maintenance tasks on refrigeration equipment and systems and directs other workers in these tasks as required. Performs analysis on gathered data and utilizes results to make preventative maintenance and repair decisions Performs troubleshooting and repairs including supervision of contractors in the event of refrigeration equipment or system failures. Oversees and performs installation, commissioning and startup of refrigeration systems and equipment. Attends MOCR meetings, design meetings and provides advise to Refrigeration Systems Foreman as required. Has ability to oversee major maintenance and project work related to the refrigeration systems. Mentors junior employees as required. All other duties as assigned Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:2-year degree in Industrial HVAC/R technology or related field, or completion of recognized apprenticeship program and 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or 4 years of experience performing refrigeration maintenance, testing and repairs in an industrial environment. 2 of these years of experience must be working on gas processing plant refrigeration systems."Electrically qualified person", by virtue of formal training and direct experience, or able to obtain knowledge in electrical safe work practices, electrical equipment theory and operation as well as electrical maintenance standards. Possesses expert knowledge in the use of computer software, VOAMs, vibration monitors and data recorders, gauges, pumps and other specialized test equipment and routinely used maintenance tools.
Working Conditions:
Work may involve walking and standing on rough terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces.
The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate but may regularly require exposure to loud noises from machinery.
Will be required to regularly drive to other field facilities within their assigned region.
Will regularly use a computer to create, record, store, revise and save documentation needed to perform their role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to work effectively in all working conditions noted above.
- Ability to wear electrical safety equipment for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs. in a safe manner.
- Ability to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone and in-person.
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
