Role Description: The Assistant Director of Nursing is a part-time, on-site position based in Manassas, VA. This role supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing nursing education programs, coordinating clinical activities, and ensuring adherence to academic and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include supervising nursing faculty and staff, assisting with curriculum implementation, monitoring student performance and clinical competencies, and promoting best practices in patient care and infection control. The Assistant Director of Nursing collaborates with leadership to enhance program quality, addresses student and staff concerns, and contributes to continuous improvement of nursing training and outcomes.
Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in Nursing Management, including supervision of staff, coordination of clinical education, and adherence to policies. Strong clinical background in Nursing and Medicine, with current knowledge of best practices in patient care. Experience with Infection Control protocols, standards, and procedures in educational or clinical settings. Understanding of Long-term Care environments and related nursing practices. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing, with eligibility to practice in Virginia. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Prior leadership or academic experience in nursing education or clinical supervision is highly beneficial. Effective communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to equity and inclusion in education and patient care.
