Pay Range: $30.00hr - $40.00hr Job Overview: This position operates within the flow cytometry department and requires flow experience. The role is a full-time contract assignment with potential for temp-to-hire transition.
Responsibilities: Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures. Review and release test results. Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred. Transcripts will be requested for review throughout the consideration process. One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred. Experience with LC-MS or ICP-MS is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements: (Due to nature of job, The candidate must have): Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 1 to 10 pounds frequently. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 11 to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 36 to 50 pounds seldomly. Ability to lift and carry objects over 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. Ability to walk and stand frequently. Ability to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments demanding significant manual dexterity.
