Overview: The Unit Leader is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the Chemicals and Utilities area. This role provides leadership for Operations and Technical teams to achieve production, quality, safety, environmental, and business objectives. The Unit Leader develops talent, manages budgets, drives continuous improvement, and ensures the long-term health of unit assets and processes.
Responsibilities: Manage teams, personnel, and resources to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient production. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Own unit performance through key operational and business metrics. Develop, manage, and control annual operating and capital budgets. Demonstrate, lead, and implement Moving to the Core and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles. Ensure manufacturing technology is optimized to meet current business needs while identifying future improvement opportunities. Support and lead turnarounds, capital projects, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement programs within the Operations organization. Establish priorities and coordinate support resources across Operations, Projects, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical organizations. Develop, coach, and evaluate employees while building a strong leadership pipeline. Conduct routine field engagement and unit walk-throughs to identify issues, remove barriers, and reinforce expectations. Ensure unit assets are maintained and managed to deliver long-term reliability, production capability, and cost performance. Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.10 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refining, plastics, or similar process industry environment. Proven leadership experience managing technical and operating teams. Strong understanding of process operations, process safety, reliability, and manufacturing systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading projects, turnarounds, or organizational improvements. Experience with process control, reliability engineering, asset management, and production technology organizations. Knowledge of ISO quality systems and audit processes. SAP or equivalent enterprise systems experience.
