Temporary Health Promotion Technician Glacier Federal is seeking a Temporary Health Promotion Technician to support the Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA. This temporary position is anticipated to begin in February 2027.The Health Promotion Technician reports to the AFWC Director/Lead Health Educator and works as part of a team delivering primary prevention services designed to improve health and build readiness. The position supports the AFWC's six core programs: health assessment review, physical fitness, healthy nutrition, stress management, general wellness education, and tobacco education.
What You'll Do: Coordinate community outreach events Schedule appointments and manage client referrals Provide administrative and clerical support Educate clients on the AFWC mission and available services Support Health Educators with biometric screenings Conduct basic health and biometric assessments Coordinate and conduct on-site, unit-level health promotion briefings using standardized presentations Manage center schedules using Microsoft Office Suite and military medical record systems Perform data entry for automated systems utilized by the medical treatment facility Assist the AFWC Director with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
Required: Four-year degree in an Allied Health field from an accredited college or university, including health promotion, health education, exercise science, nutrition science, or a related Allied Health discipline Current AHA BLS certification Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel Excellent customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environmentU.S. citizenship
Preferred: Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology Current American Red Cross CPR/AED certification
