MEP ENGINEER – DATA CENTER / MISSION CRITICALEl Paso, TX | Full-time direct hire | Travel required | Relocation possible for the right fit Gabriella & Co. is partnering with a leading commercial general contractor and construction manager to hire an MEP Engineer for mission-critical projects in El Paso. You will lead mechanical/electrical coordination from startup through commissioning and handover, support preconstruction and estimating, and own field quality on technically demanding builds. This is a strong fit for an engineer with two to five years in construction or MEP engineering who wants data center and mission-critical exposure and a direct-hire path with a national builder.
What you'll do:
  • Lead M/E coordination with project teams, designers, subcontractors, vendors and clients
  • Develop M/E schedules and system sequencing; resolve conflicts that affect milestones
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance before they go to the design team
  • Perform site inspections and constructability reviews; report on quality, coordination and installation concerns
  • Generate and execute commissioning plans, prefunctional checklists and functional testing procedures
  • Participate directly in system startup, functional testing, commissioning and final turnover
  • Prepare budgetary M/E estimates from program and schematic design using estimating tools
  • Develop M/E scopes of work, support subcontractor bidding and bid analysis
  • What you bring 2+ years of construction and/or engineering experience
  • Ability to read construction plans, drawings, specifications, shop drawings and submittals
  • Working knowledge of construction management principles, means and methods, and M/E coordination
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office; ability to learn M/E tools, estimating systems and project software
  • Willingness to work in El Paso and travel as required
Preferred: mission-critical or data center construction; commissioning and functional testing; MEP coordination, scheduling, estimating and QC; familiarity with critical electrical distribution, backup power, HVAC, controls and integrated building systems.
