About the role
Your role We are looking for a Product Design Engineer Lead who will join our R&D Department.
Main responsibilities Develop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Ideate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems
Work across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalization
Collaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team and quality.
Travel to and support engineering builds and vendor visits
Main requirements Educational Background in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design
Knowledge and Experience of Parametric 3D Cad Software, better if Creo software
Knowledge and Experience on PDM, better if Windchill system
Knowledge on design and process of Injection molding
5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold Design in med-tech or electronic industry
Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD
Knowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materials.
Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc.
Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
High level of organizational skills
Scientific approach and great problem-solving skills
Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Previous experience in Consumer Electronics Product Development is greatly appreciated.
Experience with Office 365
Experience in managing a team of R&D Product Design Engineer
5+ year of field experience
