Job Description: Job #219423 Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple SCA Sheetmetal Production Mechanic 2's for an opportunity in Lake Charles, LA. Per Diem only offered to those candidates living outside a 50 mile radius of the work location.* These positions are Service Contract Act positions. ** BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) High School diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of experience. Makes sheet metal layouts, sets up and operates fabricating machinery, shapes metal over anvils, blocks, or forms. Fiberglass experience. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESFabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs production sheet metal products and equipment such as control boxes, drain pipes, ventilators, and furnace casings in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Makes sheet metal layouts, sets up and operates fabricating machinery, shapes metal over anvils, blocks, or forms, operates welding and soldering equipment, and inspects assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited. WORK HOURS4/10 workweek. Candidate must be able to work first or second shift. M-Th 6:00 - 16:42 over time worked on weekends M-Th 16:00- 02:42 overtime on weekends SCA Benefits: HEALTH & WELFARE EO 13706: $4.93 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, or $197.20 per week, or $854.53 per month* This rate is to be used only when compensating employees for performance on an SCA- covered contract also covered by EO 13706, Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors. A contractor may not receive credit toward its SCA obligations for any paid sick leave provided pursuant to EO 13706. 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours they work, up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year.
VACATION: 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service with a contractor or successor; 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 15 years, and 5 weeks after 20 years. Length of service includes the whole span of continuous service with the present contractor or successor, wherever employed, and with the predecessor contractors in the performance of similar work at the same Federal facility. HOLIDAYS: A minimum of eleven paid holidays per year: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. (A contractor may substitute for any of the named holidays another day off with pay in accordance with a plan communicated to the employees involved.) (See 29 CFR 4.174)
