About the role
Transportation EngineerA Transportation Engineer plans, designs, and improves transportation systems that move people and goods safely and efficiently. They work on projects such as roads, highways, intersections, public transit systems, airports, railways, and traffic management solutions. Transportation engineers analyze traffic patterns, evaluate infrastructure needs, and develop designs that enhance mobility, reduce congestion, improve safety, and support sustainable transportation.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing roadways and transportation infrastructure
- Analyzing traffic flow and transportation data
- Improving traffic safety and reducing congestion
- Planning public transit and multimodal transportation systems
- Coordinating with government agencies, planners, and construction teams
- Ensuring projects comply with engineering standards and regulations
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience working in transportation, traffic engineering.
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required, or related.
- A P.E. license is highly preferred. May consider those who are an EIT and will gain their license in the next 12-18 months.
- This role is fully remote, however candidates must be local to Houston, TX to attend client meetings at their facilities.
- Solid skills in Micro
- Station and AutoCAD is needed.
