About the role
The VP of Sales is an integral part of the Company’s leadership team. The VP participates in setting the Company’s strategic direction, development, and growth. It is a highly visible, hands‑on role both internally and externally with significant responsibility for leading national account relationships and driving industry leadership for a market‑leading building products distributor with a $300M+ revenue base and nationwide footprint.
Responsibilities:
Own and cultivate executive-level relationships with major national accounts Lead a national accounts and segment sales team responsible for the company's highest-growth business segments Serve as a full member of the Executive Team, participating in company‑wide strategy and direction Read the industry and identify "what's next". Incubate and grow emerging business segments Represent the company with key customers and at national industry trade events Recruiting and hiring new sales representatives who can target and convert customersMUST HAVE BUILDING MATERIALS AND NATIONAL ACCOUNT SALES LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
Skills and Experience:
5+ years of senior sales leadership experience in Building Materials at the VP, REGIONAL VP, DIRECTOR of NATIONAL ACCOUNTS or equivalent level Proven experience leading national account relationships and managing a $100M+ book Executive presence, ready to operate at the executive team level from day one Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire a sales team and oversee development of a diverse group of employees Experience in building materials distribution a strong plus
Travel:
50% - 60%Generous compensation package including base salary, strong annual bonus potential, profit sharing, 401k match, and car allowance.
