IMS Application DBA Location: Chandler, Arizona or Plano TX or Charlotte NC or Jersey, NJ Duration: Contract Job ID: 179887 Job Overview: The IMS Application DBA will be responsible for managing and maintaining IMS databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. The role involves working closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database operations and ensure data integrity.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain IMS databases to meet application requirements. Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency. Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Collaborate with development teams to support application development and deployment. Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an IMS Application DBA or similar role. Strong knowledge of IMS database architecture and administration. Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization. Experience with database backup and recovery processes. Familiarity with database security best practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
