About the role
Breed Barn Lead Implement and oversee breeding and management programs to allow our sows to produce the maximum number of farrows with the highest quality genetic traits.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist with the gestation process (breeding process) to ensure the sows become pregnant. Assist with diagnosis and treatment of bred sows to produce the maximum number of healthy farrows. Assist with updating all production records. Responsible that all biosecurity protocols are in place and followed. Responsible for analysis of all production metrics. Participate in onboarding and lead new hire training. Administer production performance evaluations. Encourage employee development by identifying opportunities for growth within sow farms and company. Implement new ideas, and changes to obtain desired results. Update and maintain accurate farm records and reports.
Qualifications:
1 year experience leading 2 or more employees. Bachelor's degree Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interest in working with animals with a desire to learn and self-develop. Detailed oriented and meticulous Ability to lead others in high demand situations. Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude Strong written and verbal communication skills Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for 9+ hrs./day. Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat and kneel. Must have reliable transportation.
