Efficient to advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, including the ability to confidently create, edit, and prepare technical artwork and dielines for production. About the Role: Donnamax is looking for an Associate Packaging Designer to join our creative team and help bring packaging concepts from idea to production. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented designer who understands the technical side of packaging and is comfortable working within dielines, production specifications, and print requirements. You’ll collaborate with the design and product teams to develop and refine packaging across multiple products and formats, ensuring that designs are both visually compelling and technically accurate.-Located in Brooklyn, New York-Full-Time -In Office M-F 9-530pm-10 PTO / No health benefits (can be at draw against salary)
Responsibilities: Create, edit, and maintain technical packaging dielines for a variety of packaging formats. Translate creative concepts into production-ready packaging artwork. Build and modify packaging layouts in Adobe Illustrator. Ensure artwork aligns accurately with dielines, dimensions, folds, cuts, bleeds, and other production specifications. Prepare files for print production and communicate with internal teams and external vendors as needed. Make revisions based on feedback while maintaining design intent and technical accuracy. Organize and maintain packaging files, dielines, and production assets. Collaborate with designers, product development, marketing, and vendors throughout the packaging development process. Help troubleshoot technical packaging and artwork issues as they arise.
Qualifications: Required:2+ years of professional experience creating technical packaging dielines. A portfolio demonstrating dielines you personally created. Efficient to advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator. Strong understanding of packaging production and print-ready artwork. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work efficiently across multiple projects and deadlines. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to take creative direction while also working independently. Portfolio Requirement Your portfolio must include examples of technical packaging dielines that you personally created. When submitting your portfolio, please be prepared to identify your specific contribution to each relevant project. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience creating dielines—not solely designing graphics that were placed onto existing dielines. Compensation$55,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience, skill level, and qualifications.
