Reliability Product Approval Engineer
Location: Marietta, Ohio
Pay: $65.33/hour

12-month contract Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidateKYO Group is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support Thermo Fisher Scientific's laboratory equipment and ultra-low temperature product development programs. This role will focus on reliability engineering, verification and validation, failure analysis, risk management, and product approval activities for complex electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive product reliability plans- Define verification, reliability, and performance testing strategies- Develop test protocols, acceptance criteria, and engineering test procedures- Lead Design FMEA and structured product-risk activities- Perform root-cause and failure analysis- Apply Physics of Failure principles to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems- Support accelerated life testing, stress testing, and reliability evaluation- Analyze test data and field performance data- Drive corrective actions and design improvements- Maintain requirements traceability from customer need through test evidence- Support product approval and regulatory readiness- Create standardized reliability methods and test procedures- Mentor engineers and technicians on reliability methods and tools- Support Lean/PPI and continuous improvement initiatives- Travel up to 10%Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field- 5+ years of reliability engineering, verification testing, product approval, or related engineering experience- 3+ years supporting mechanical or electromechanical product development- Hands-on experience developing and executing engineering test methods- Strong failure-analysis and root-cause-analysis skills- Experience with reliability tools such as DFMEA, DOE, ALT, HALT, or statistical analysis- Experience with measurement and test equipment Preferred Experience- HVAC/R, refrigeration, or thermal systems- UL, IEC, NSF, Energy Star, DIN, or similar regulated product testing- Minitab, Reliasoft, or similar reliability-analysis tools- Data acquisition and automated test systems- Accelerated life testing Relevant military test, evaluation, systems engineering, quality assurance, or reliability experience is encouraged.
