About the role
This role provides HR leadership for a Sysco site in Columbia, SC, offering coaching to site leaders and associates on employment-related matters and ensuring consistent application of HR policy, legal compliance, and people processes. The position also supports investigations, workforce planning, and prevention-focused culture initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate theSysco Speaks Associate Surveyefforts.
Analyze survey findings and review trends with senior management to recommend actions that support positive organizational change.
Review, interpret, administer, and ensure compliance withfederal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain the site’sAffirmative Action Program(where applicable), complete requiredEqual Employment Opportunityreporting, and ensureEEOCcompliance.
Conduct investigations and prepare written responses toEEOCclaims, unemploymentclaims, and related matters.
Partner with site leaders to create and maintainworkforce staffing plans. Coordinate recruiting efforts with Sysco Business Services (where applicable) to support hiring of competent, diverse, and skilled workers and to help maintain appropriate workload levels and minimize turnover.
Direct resources and activities that strengthen a culture ofprevention awarenessand accountability across the organization.
Support development ofHealth, Safety and Environmental (HSE)plans aligned to operational goals to reduce accidents, injuries, and incidents.
Provide day-to-day direction and support to site HR staff through proactive guidance, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degreewith a major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
ExperienceAt least 7 yearsof demonstrated HR leadership and management experience indistribution/manufacturing environments.
10 years preferred.
Certifications:
(Preferred) Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional Human Resources (PHR)orSenior Professional Human Resources (SPHR).
SHRM-CPorSHRM-SCPcertification.
