About the role
Material Handler The Material Handler reports directly to the Plant Manager. This role supports the safe, organized, and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing materials in compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Handle, store, and ship products in accordance with company specifications.
Possess a complete understanding of the Yard Program, including all related procedures.
Accurately count and verify product quantities as materials are received.
Mark incoming materials clearly with Work Order numbers and customer-specific identifiers.
Maintain clean, organized work areasincluding inside the shop and the phosphate areafree of debris and metal shavings.
Support and contribute to meeting established production and performance goals.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Operate forklifts safely and maintain valid forklift certification.
Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of performing job duties for 810 hours per day in outdoor or warehouse environments.
- Must not have recurring physical conditions that would be aggravated by the physical nature of the job.
- Good visual acuity and color perception are essential.
Cognitive & Technical Abilities:
Must be able to read, follow written instructions, and interpret labels or safety signs.
Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Capable of learning to operate equipment used in yard operations (e.g., pallet jacks, banding machines).Able to comprehend and apply relevant parts of the Quality Manual pertaining to yard operations.
