Controller

Location: Franklin, WI

Schedule: On-Site 7am-4pm

Pay: $70-$75/hr

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and finance operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role will lead financial reporting, month-end close, manufacturing accounting, and financial analysis while partnering closely with plant and operations leadership.

Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely transactional activities. Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting, and other transactional functions. Monitor inventory, standard costs, manufacturing variances, COGS, and other manufacturing-related accounting activities. Partner with operations and plant leadership to analyze production costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and overall financial performance. Maintain accurate account reconciliations, financial controls, and accounting procedures. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial variance analysis. Provide financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership team.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Prior Controller or progressive accounting management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory, standard costs, COGS, and variance analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
