About the role
- Compliance and PolicyEnsure HR processes are aligned with federal, state, and local employment laws, and that compliance standards are met in each jurisdiction where PayBright has employees
- Create, update, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and health and safety programs
- Employee Relations and Manager Support
- Serve as the primary day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers, providing consistent guidance on workplace policies, employee concerns, performance, attendance, leave, and other employment matters
- Handle employee relations matters from initial concern through resolution, including gathering facts, documenting conversations, supporting workplace investigations, recommending next steps, and escalating complex or higher-risk matters as needed
- Partner with managers on performance and attendance concerns, providing guidance on documentation, corrective action, and difficult employee conversations
- Onboarding and Offboarding
- 3+ years of human resources experience in a generalist capacity
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; or relevant experience
- Working knowledge of federal employment requirements and familiarity with state-specific employment considerations
- Hands-on experience with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Experience handling employee relations issues, with the judgment to assess risk and escalate matters as needed
- Experience administering benefits and leave programs
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and sensitive matters without losing attention to detail
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build credibility with employees, managers, and senior leadership
- PreferredPrevious experience within a small or growing organization
- Working knowledge of Gusto HRISExperience with Zoho One or similar business applications
- Experience working with external HR consultants, employment counsel, or benefits brokersHR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR)
