About the role

We are excited to be partnering with a well-established New York design studio with a strong reputation for creating highly considered, design-led interiors across a range of high-end projects. The studio brings together architecture and interior design, with a collaborative approach and a strong focus on thoughtful, sophisticated design. This role will suit a designer who is comfortable taking projects from initial concept through design development, documentation, procurement and installation. You will lead design development, space planning, material and finish selections, FF&E, custom furniture and millwork, while working closely with architects, consultants, vendors and fabricators. There will also be significant client exposure, including presenting design concepts, developing presentations and responding to client feedback, alongside involvement in site visits and installation. Alongside your own project responsibilities, you will provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, helping to review work and maintain a high standard of design across the studio. The ideal candidate will have strong design sensibility, excellent knowledge of materials, furniture, lighting and custom fabrication, and be confident balancing creative direction with the technical and practical requirements of a project. We are looking for someone with professional experience in interior design within high-end residential and/or hospitality environments. A strong portfolio of completed projects is essential, as is experience working across the full project lifecycle. Strong AutoCAD and Sketch Up skills are expected, alongside proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modelling or rendering software. Revit experience would also be valuable. Most importantly, you will be a confident designer and communicator with strong client-facing skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to lead projects and people within a fast-paced studio environment

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
