Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Blood Bank Experience Required This position requires an afternoon shift of 10 hours, Monday through Friday, from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with every other weekend from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Job Description: The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures according to standardized methodology. This includes operating laboratory equipment such as analyzers, spectrophotometers, and other related instruments. The role is critical in maintaining quality results, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and ensuring accurate test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities: Perform routine laboratory procedures using various laboratory equipment. Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, and conducting routine equipment maintenance. Analyze blood cells using microscopic techniques and procedures. Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting necessary compatibility tests. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and evaluate new equipment and techniques. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing technological findings. Perform other related duties as required and directed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required. ASCP certification is required. Recent blood bank experience is essential.
