About the role
Director of Finance | Architecture & Design Firm New York City | Full-Time | Hybrid Flexibility Are you a hands-on finance leader who understands the business behind great projects? Our client, an award-winning architecture, planning, and interior design firm, is seeking a Director of Finance to lead its finance function and serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the numbers, strengthen financial operations, and help guide the continued success of a highly respected creative organization. You will oversee the monthly close, financial reporting, project accounting, billing and collections, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metrics. You will also lead a small accounting team and work closely with Principals and project leaders to improve visibility into project performance, profitability, utilization, backlog, and margins.
What We’re Looking For:
12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience At least five years within architecture, engineering, construction, or another project-based professional services environment Strong knowledge of WIP, fee-based billing, project profitability, and revenue recognition Experience leading the monthly close and managing an accounting team Ability to communicate financial information clearly and advise senior leadership Deltek Vantagepoint experience strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or public accounting experience is a plus Why Consider This Opportunity? Compensation:
$175,000 to $195,000 base salary, based on experience, plus a discretionary year-end bonus and comprehensive benefits. Hybrid flexibility is available on Mondays and Fridays.
