About the role

We are partnering with an established venture capital firm that is looking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to its growing finance team. This is a fully remote opportunity offering strong exposure across fund accounting, investment activity, financial reporting, and fund operations. The Senior Fund Accountant will work closely with the broader finance team and have significant involvement in the day-to-day accounting and reporting for multiple venture capital funds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on greater ownership and continue growing within the venture capital industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting and reporting for multiple venture capital funds
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Maintain fund-level general ledgers and supporting schedules
  • Assist with capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
  • Track investment activity and portfolio company transactions
  • Prepare and review partner capital account activity
  • Support quarterly valuations and investment reporting
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, tax providers, and other third-party service providers
  • Assist with annual audits and tax reporting
  • Support investor reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Help improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting as the firm continues to grow
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with venture capital, private equity, or other alternative investment funds strongly preferred
  • Public accounting, fund administration, or in-house fund accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of partnership and investment fund accounting
  • Experience with capital calls, distributions, investment activity, and financial reporting
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a remote environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required
