About the role
I’m working with a leading proprietary trading firm in Chicago that is looking for a Linux Engineering Lead to take ownership of a high-performance Linux environment supporting trading, research and development. This is a senior technical leadership role, combining hands-on Linux engineering with people leadership, working closely with infrastructure, development and trading teams to build and maintain highly reliable, low-latency systems. Please note for this role it is imperative you have some people lead / management experience.
Key requirements:
- Strong Linux engineering experience in a high-performance environment
- Experience leading and developing an engineering team
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking and automation
- Experience with large-scale development/research infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and systems engineering skills
- Comfortable remaining hands-on technically
