The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Housing Manager (NH-1173-02) to work at the 412th Civil Engineering Group, 412th Civil Engineering Installation Dormitory Management (412CE/CEIHD) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. In this position you will serve as the direct on-site management and administration of unaccompanied housing (UH) program; oversee facilities, campus, customer service, and furnishing management operations (FMO).Announcement Closes: 10/14/2026 Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $113,185 per year (includes locality) "If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position."
Travel Requirements: No travel Areas of Consideration (AOC): Department - wide (DoD)
Desired Skills: Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and others. Ability to maintain records, compile and organize data for reports. Answers questions regarding housing facilities; and provides information to service members regarding local resources, on-base facilities and activities.
Major Duties: Oversee and manage all responsibilities and duties related to Unaccompanied Housing Management. Evaluate housing management programs and administrative procedures. Manage day-to-day operations of permanent-party UH facilities. Determine eligibility, assign and terminate members, and maintain waiting list. Schedule and perform inspections. Develops budget and executes program. Works with unit commanders, chiefs, squadron superintendents, and first sergeants to execute and supervise the Bay Orderly Program.
Qualifications/Requirements: Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical Knowledge of housing property/asset management principles, concepts, and methodologies. Knowledge of Federal, DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM housing and furnishing management principles, theory, policies, directives, and procedures. Knowledge of the principles of construction, contract acquisition, and program management. Knowledge of appropriated fund budget system and contracting provisions sufficient to ensure proper negotiations or commitment of government funds.
