About the role
Staff Frontend Engineer – Forward Deployed | RemoteRemote working is available but candidates must be on Eastern Timezone either US or Canada. I'm partnering with a fast-growing, AI-native insurtech platform that connects specialty insurers with the capital behind them. They operate across more than 20 countries, are well backed, and are building small, high-leverage engineering squads designed for the AI era. They're now hiring a Staff Frontend Engineer into a forward deployed role. This person will sit at the intersection of engineering and customers. You'll work directly with the people using the platform, understand how they actually work, and ship software that changes how they make decisions.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with customers to understand their workflows, scope messy problems and turn them into working software
- Build and ship customer-facing applications, integrations and AI-enabled workflows, end to end
- Lead frontend architecture and component design, setting the standard for how UI is built across squads
- Integrate AI capabilities into real customer workflows in reliable, secure and production-ready ways
- Use AI tools throughout your own development process to move faster without compromising quality
- Feed what you learn from customers back into the core product and engineering roadmap
- What they're looking for
- Staff-level frontend engineering experience, with deep TypeScript and a strong grasp of the web platform
Experience building design systems or shared component libraries. Web Components or Lit is a real plus.
Enough backend capability (Node.js, APIs, PostgreSQL, AWS) to be self-sufficient
Experience in a customer-facing engineering role, such as forward deployed, solutions or customer engineering, consulting, or enterprise B2B product work
Hands-on experience building AI or LLM features into production products, not just using AI coding tools
Strong communication skills and confidence with non-technical stakeholders
Insurance, fintech or other regulated B2B experience is a bonus, not a requirement
Why it's worth a conversation
Genuine ownership, with short feedback loops and trust to make consequential decisionsAI taken seriously, both in how software is built and in what gets delivered to customers
Remote-first, working with a talented global team
Visible impact on an industry that's overdue for modernisation

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
