About the Role:
Metspec Inc is looking for a skilled Structural Welder to join our team in Monterey, CA! Responsibilities:
Perform structural welding using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick (SMAW) welding processes on steel and metal components Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication Fit, align, and assemble metal components prior to welding Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications Operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols Collaborate with fabrication team members to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
Proven experience in structural welding or metal fabrication 2 years minimum Clean driving record Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbolsAWS certification or equivalent welding certification preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods in a shop environment Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player
