The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is seeking fire protection engineering support for facilities in South Carolina, Virginia, and other CONUS locations. Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications:
Fire science, fire protection, or related technical education and inspection experience recommended; the PWS sets no diploma, degree, or years. Historical candidate minimum: bachelor's degree and 10 years; verify current terms. Facility fire inspection and code-application experience. Applicable fire inspector certification is desirable. Does not replace QFPE credentials.
Skills Required:
Primarily focused on Engineering Services initiatives and aligned with Program Support activities in the Existing Facility Fire and Life Safety Evaluation Functional Area. Site observation, egress assessment, fire protection system recognition, photographs, checklists, deficiency documentation.
Competencies:
Required Observational accuracy, safe site conduct, objective reporting, risk awareness, coordination with facility personnel.
