ABOUT US: Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services is the premier name in nationwide commercial interior construction projects, specializing in seamless remodels and refreshes, as well as new construction. For 20 years, we've been the leader in nationwide flooring installation for the Retail and Senior Living markets. Our execution has been conducted at a centralized location utilizing proprietary project management software and third-party sub-contractors called service providers (SP’s).
ABOUT THE ROLE: The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company goals. This role requires strong construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver high-quality, competitive estimates. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and experienced in using technology and tools to enhance the estimating process. This position reports directly to the Director, Estimating Services. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Construction Knowledge Analyze construction documents, plans, and technical specifications to determine project requirements. Understand installation processes, material needs, labor requirements, equipment usage, and project sequencing. Ensure estimates are comprehensive and account for all project components, including labor, materials, and equipment. Technology and Tools Utilize estimation software, Excel, and ERP systems to prepare accurate cost estimates efficiently. Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accurate pricing for materials, labor, and equipment. Leverage technology to identify efficiencies and improve the accuracy and speed of the estimating process. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Review project requirements with precision, identifying all cost components and potential risks. Detect errors, inconsistencies, or omissions in construction plans or specifications, and propose solutions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and refine estimates as needed. Team Collaboration Work closely with the costing team and sales department to ensure estimates align with client and company expectations. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide clear and accurate project details. Support the handoff of estimates to project teams, ensuring seamless execution of approved plans. EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a national or multi-regional environment. Strong understanding of construction documents, materials, labor requirements, and project sequencing. Proficiency in estimation software, Excel, and ERP systems. Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with internal teams and stakeholders. Desired: Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously, prioritizing based on deadlines and complexity. Understanding of labor rates, material costs, and industry regulations across different geographic regions. Background in field operations or site management to enhance understanding of labor, material, and installation challenges.
