Financial Business Analyst (Subject Matter Expert) This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert for financial business analysis, collaborating closely with customer teams, contract managers, program managers, and procurement teams to optimize the development and performance of financial systems. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between financial operations and software development, guiding technical teams on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure that all developed capabilities meet mission execution requirements. Core Responsibilities Analyze business rules, refine and document system requirements, build and execute collaborative test cases, document testing results, and develop user manuals as needed. Manage and ensure the integrity of financial data tables within a large, complex, and integrated financial system. Review, analyze, and evaluate performance measurement and financial management indicators to continuously assess the accuracy of the accounting system. Independently resolve complex accounting business rules related to fiscal data, transactions, or financial table structures. Coordinate directly with external stakeholders to accurately reconcile financial data. Advise and guide software developers regarding authoritative GAAP compliance in the development of functional system capabilities. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. 3 to 5 years of professional experience associated with Software Development. Knowledge of or experience with the General Accounting and Finance System (GAFS) and Standard Material Accounting System (SMAS) is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with highly desirable presentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications A strong understanding of government financial regulations and proficiency in modern financial analysis tools. Compensation and Requirements Salary: $90,000–100,000 annually with benefits. Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder.
