This position is employed by FP Strategies. More about us: www.robostrategy.co
Role Overview: We are seeking a Data Scientist, Associate to build Robo Strategy’s data capability from the ground up. This is the firm’s first data hire and a role for an exceptionally talented early-career builder who wants real ownership from day one. You will turn our shareholder, investor, marketing and investment data into the tools, analysis and campaigns that drive our decisions. You will build and run what you design, recommend where we should go next, and surface problems and opportunities we have not yet identified. You will also bring statistical rigor to how the firm measures, tests and forecasts.
What You’ll Do: •       Build our investor data layer. Bring together shareholder records, 13F filings, DTC position reports and allocator databases into a single view connected to our CRM, and use it to score, segment and prioritize investors, handling sensitive investor data in line with our compliance policies.•       Design and measure targeted campaigns. Turn that data into target lists and campaign designs, work with our distribution and marketing teams as they run them, and measure what converts.•       Own funnel analytics. Track the full path from paid media, social, video and newsletter through the website to investor action, and identify where we lose people and why.•       Build AI-native dashboards and tools. Create and maintain live dashboards for leadership, marketing and distribution, and automate recurring reporting across the firm.•       Support the investment team. Build and maintain our deal-tracking data, market maps and portfolio company KPI tracking.•       Raise the analytical bar. Bring statistical rigor to how we design experiments, test ideas and forecast outcomes, from campaigns to investor and portfolio analysis.•       Find what we are missing. Bring forward the questions, datasets and tools we have not yet thought of, and make the case for them with evidence.
Core Qualifications: •       1 to 3 years of experience in data science, analytics, engineering or a similar quantitative role, or equivalent work you have built independently.•       Strong SQL and Python, and experience working with messy, real-world data from multiple sources.•       A portfolio of work you have built and shipped that you can walk us through in depth.•       AI-native in how you work. You build daily with LLM APIs, agents and AI coding tools, and you know how to verify what they produce.•       Experience with at least one BI or dashboarding tool and a modern data stack such as Big Query or Snowflake. Experience with CRM data, such as Hub Spot, is a plus.•       Clear written communication, with the ability to turn analysis into a recommendation a busy executive can act on.•       A degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics or a related field, or an equivalent record of exceptional work. A finance background is not required.
Ideal Candidate Profile: •       Exceptionally capable, with a record of applying that ability to real problems.•       A self-starter who figures things out without being told how, and comes back with working solutions rather than open questions.•       Does not wait to be told what to do. Constantly spots the next problem, proposes a fix and builds it, and is comfortable telling a senior team what it should be doing differently.•       Obsessive about accuracy, and quick to spot when an AI-generated answer is wrong.•       A restless shipper who puts working versions in front of people early and keeps improving them.•       Wants to grow quickly with a young firm and take on more as the data function expands.•       Curious about robotics and how capital markets work, and eager to learn both. Logistics
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Marketing Officer.
Location: Remote (U.S.).Application: Please include links to the work that best demonstrates your abilities.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
