About the Role:
Job Title: General Foreman Division: Transmission Field Positions (Includes Field Management): Fully in Field Traveling as required
Reports To:
Operations Manager Supervises: Multiple Crews of Foreman, Lineman, Operators and Apprentices Driver’s license and MVR requirement: Valid Commercial Driver’s License and clean MVR Education: High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ previous experience as General Foreman or Foreman in Powerline Operations Qualifications/Certifications: OSHA 30 Technical Skills: Proficient with everyday computer tasks, including email communication, Teams meetings, report writing, mobile app navigation, and completing project documentation. Experience with Procore is a plus. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities Performs all duties assigned by manager Involved in the review of incoming projects Help estimating team with development of project estimates and sit in on bid reviews Participates in project preplanning meetings Plays an active role in building Altitude’s Transmission team includingrecruiting, interviewing and onboarding new team members Distribute project assignments to crews Understand, adhere to, and enforce Company Policies and Operating Procedures Management: Attend, prepare for, participate and lead meetings Has experience in the following areas: use of forecasting tools, production tracking, percent complete reporting, budget tracking, billing, change order management, and punch lists. Demonstrates the ability to understand and adhere to all contract documents, verifying that all work aligns with contractual specifications. Risk management: focus on avoiding delay costs, avoiding LDs, and avoiding claims Assists in compiling information for monthly billing and submittals Heavily involved in subcontractor management: cost tracking, identifying changed conditions, dispute management, risk management. Manage and resolve conflicts or disputes involving engineers, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitor and manage manpower, manhours, material, equipment, rentals and other job cost impact items. Weekly timesheet approval. Monitor and manage project schedules and crew schedules. Adjust as necessary to meet deadlines. Inform leadership of schedule issues. Responsible for creating or executing detailed work plans for high-risk tasks such as critical lifts and stringing operations. Administration: Documentation done in a timely manner Ensure accurate reporting and tracking. Communication: Meetings with Landowners Maintains open communication with leadership. Material, Equipment, Tooling: Tooling and Equipment Management; you will assist with ensuring maintenance is up to date, employees trained to operate, kept organized, taken care of, kept clean and in working order, inspections are completed, taken out of service if damaged or broken. Quality: Responsible for quality control on your projects Essential Leadership Characteristics or Requirements Believes and leads by Altitude’s “Core Values”. Holds team accountable, disciplines and documents performance issues. Evaluate crew members’ work performance. Forward thinking and proactive. Must prioritize critical tasks and be able to multi-task. Approaches coworkers, customers, engineers, and sub-contractors in a professional manner. Mentor subordinates, by being a good coach and teacher in all aspects of operations. This includes involvement in our apprenticeship program. Responsible for periodic performance reviews for your direct reports and the team that falls within your purview
Essential Safety Requirements:
Adheres to and promotes Altitude’s safety culture as a core value. Must arrive at your designated work area on time (early) and “Fit for Duty”. Physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to work. Facilitate technical and safety training for your team. Elevate concerns with safety, crew, or project to leadership. OSHA 30 card required. JHA reviews to ensure they are thoroughly completed and correct deficiencies. Ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping on your sites. Ensure trainings are up to date for your crews. Identify and mitigate hazards. Facilitate incident management and reporting. Promotes and participates in Altitude’s ‘Monthly Safety Meetings’. Adheres to all applicable Altitude, Local, State and Federal safety standards and safety requirements. Wears all required protective and safety equipment while performing tasks that require it.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely maneuver and walk around job sites. Able to speak and hear information through oral communication. Has visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply. Other Requirements and Working Conditions Working conditions could include inclement weather. Working at heights up to 200 feet. You are expected to manage multiple projects at any given time. To ensure projects under your direction are running smoothly and profitably, you will be required to make regular site visits and spend adequate time at each site throughout the duration of each project. It is important that you spend time on each job site to ensure success. In general, plan for at least multiple visits per month and multiple days per visit to each project. It is also required to increase the frequency and duration of your visits if one of your projects is performing poorly to implement some corrective action plans and also plan to be onsite during critical phases in the work scopes Excluding storm projects- work schedules/hours can be up to 12-hour days and up to 60-hours per week. Willing to work nights, weekends, out of town, overtime, outages, and storm calls as required.
