Position Summary: The People & Culture role is a hands-on professional who owns the HR, payroll, benefits and systems, and recruiting, onboarding, culture, and employee relations functions. This is a full-time position, based at the company headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. The People & Culture role dual reports to the Managing Director and to the President / Co-Founder.
Specific Responsibilities: Work closely with the Managing Director and with the President to update the People & Culture strategy, set priorities, and build an annual HR calendar. Run all annual and other recurring processes, including but not limited to performance reviews, midyear check-ins, open enrollment, anti-harassment training, etc. Manage the recruiting function and look for opportunities to streamline the process, optimize systems and improve the candidate experience to ensure that GCT attracts the most qualified pool of talent. Conduct hands on recruiting, across job descriptions, posting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding and continually refine the processes to maximize readiness and success of each hire. Identify opportunities for training and upskilling at all levels of the organization. Make recommendations to the Managing Director and President as appropriate, and procure resources and/or facilitate trainings as approved. Make suggestions to the Managing Director and President for activities, initiatives and tools that improve company culture, productivity and employee retention, and implement and report on any such approved programs. Periodically review company policies and handbook, and make changes to stay compliant, and to ensure GCT is competitive. Co-manage the TriNet PEO relationship with the Managing Director. Utilizing HR best practices to directly manage and resolve employee relations and performance improvement matters that come up, escalating to senior management as appropriate. Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and support. Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to supervisors on elevating their ability to communicate with, direct and develop staff. Manage other duties and special projects as directed by the Managing Director and President and/or as business needs dictate. Qualifications4 or more years of experience in a hands-on generalist, business partner or other broad HR role. Experience working directly with employee populations across functions and levels. Degree or certification in human resources strongly preferred. Direct full-cycle recruiting experience strongly preferred. Fluency with HRIS, Payroll, ATS, personnel file management and other HR related systems. Experience managing and successfully resolving performance improvement, employee relations and other matters, with a demonstrated understanding of employment compliance and employment law. Understanding of worker classification and FLSA requirements, and experience co-managing payroll. Strong working knowledge of employee benefits, including managing open enrollment process. Passionate about music and genuine interest in live shows. Ability to work across different personalities. Good judgement in escalating and navigating sensitive situations. Excellent verbal, written and quantitative skills. Proficiency in Google Suite and OneDrive. Highest level of curiosity and work ethic and alignment with GCT’s values of tenacity, focus, ingenuity, integrity and instinct.
Compensation: Competitive salary, incentive and benefits will be offered, commensurate with the role and the final hire’s experience. Depending on the job relevant knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, network and location of the final hire, the base salary is anticipated at an annual rate in the range of $100K to $125K.Contact EnterGain is the exclusive recruiter on this project.
