The Opportunity:
JM Test Systems is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join the team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, managing and growing an assigned territory. This role combines new business development, account management, and consultative selling. You’ll build new customer relationships, expand existing accounts, and connect customers with calibration, repair, rental, and test and measurement solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, and taking ownership of their territory.
What You’ll Do:
Prospect and develop new accounts within your territory Manage and grow existing customer relationships Identify new opportunities within current accounts and adjacent markets Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and product/service information Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM activity Participate in pipeline reviews and sales forecasting Collaborate with service operations, marketing, and customer success Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events Travel throughout the assigned territory, typically 40–60%
What We’re Looking For:
Required 3+ years of B2B outside sales experience Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets Experience generating new business through prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and referrals Strong communication and relationship-building skills Strong territory planning and time-management skills Experience with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience Preferred Experience in calibration, metrology, test and measurement, instrumentation rental, or technical services Experience selling into electrical utilities, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial manufacturing Experience with consultative or solution selling Experience managing accounts in a technical or engineered-services environment What Makes This Opportunity Different This is an opportunity to own a defined territory and approach it like your own business, with the support of an experienced Regional Sales Manager and broader team. Work Environment:
This role is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and combines remote home-office work, customer-site visits, and occasional in-office work.
