About the role

Lab Technician Beecher's Handmade Cheese is seeking a Lab Technician to support food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance at our Shullsburg, Wisconsin facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency from raw milk intake through finished product. Why Choose Beecher's? What You'll Do: Conduct routine quality checks throughout the production process. Collect product, ingredient, environmental, and water samples as required. Perform quality testing and inspections according to established procedures. Verify compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP, and sanitation requirements. Monitor critical control points and report deviations. Maintain accurate quality, food safety, and regulatory records. Review production and sanitation documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities. Support product traceability and record retention requirements. Partner with production team to identify and resolve quality concerns. Verify products meet specifications for appearance, weight, packaging, and quality.
What We're Looking For: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with computers and digital recordkeeping systems. Prior experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, quality assurance, or laboratory environments. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, or state dairy regulations. Associate's degree or coursework in Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Science, Biology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
