About the role
- Lead daily culinary operations and maintain compliance with food service regulations
- Plan menus, manage food ordering, and coordinate meals for special events
- Promote high-quality, from-scratch cooking using fresh, flavorful ingredients
- Establish and maintain recipe standards, portion control, and food presentation
- Monitor meal quality to ensure resident preferences and dietary needs are met
- Conduct daily rounds to support staff performance, safety, and sanitation standards
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Build relationships with residents and gather feedback to continually improve dining services
- Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary food preparation and storage areas
- Assist with department planning, budgeting, and operational goals
- Train, mentor, and motivate culinary team members
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Certified Food Protection Manager certification, or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in culinary arts, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- $56,000 to $65,000 per year, with credit given for verified experience
