About the role

Private Credit Deals Lawyer – New YorkOur Client, a leading global alternative investment manager is looking to hire an ambitious private markets deals counsel into its private credit asset management team in New York. The role sits in the investment business and combines transaction analysis, portfolio monitoring and risk management across a broad range of private credit investments. You will work closely with portfolio managers, investment professionals and senior stakeholders, developing independent views on transactions and portfolio risk while supporting investments throughout their lifecycle. The remit includes direct lending, leveraged finance, amendments and waivers, stressed and distressed situations, restructuring and special situations.
Candidate profile:
  • Approximately 2–5 years’ post qualified experience in a Top 50 AMLAW firm
  • Strong transactional background in private credit, leveraged finance, banking, private equity, corporate M&A, restructuring or special situations
  • Excellent understanding of deal structures and documentation
  • Academic background: Strong Finance, Economics or Engineering MajorStrong financial and commercial aptitude, including an understanding of capital structures, leverage, covenants, valuation and downside risk
  • Intellectually sharp, pragmatic and confident communicating with senior investment professionals
  • Candidates from investment managers or other relevant buy-side environments will be considered
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the USA - either as a US Citizen or Green Card holder
