Advanced Tax StrategistA boutique wealth management and family office firm is seeking an experienced Advanced Tax Strategist to provide sophisticated tax-planning and advisory support to high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns to identify planning opportunities and risks. Develop proactive, multi-year tax strategies focused on tax mitigation and wealth preservation. Model tax and financial impacts of planning alternatives. Advise on business sales, liquidity events, entity structuring, executive compensation, estate planning, charitable strategies, investments, and wealth transfer. Research and evaluate advanced tax strategies for technical validity, risks, costs, and implementation requirements. Monitor federal and state tax law changes and translate them into actionable planning opportunities. Collaborate with CPAs, attorneys, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other client advisors. Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients and internal teams. Maintain thorough documentation of recommendations, assumptions, risks, and follow-up requirements.
Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant tax planning, advisory, or consulting experience preferred. Experience working with HNW/UHNW individuals, families, business owners, trusts, and closely held businesses. Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, estate, and trust taxation. Experience with business succession, liquidity events, wealth transfer, and advanced tax planning. Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication and client relationship skills. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field required. CPA, JD, LLM in Taxation, EA, or other advanced tax credential strongly preferred.
