Summary/Objective The Outside Sales Account Manager position is responsible for achieving all sales and revenue generating targets of Phoenix Welding Supply's ("PWS") within a defined territory to current and new customers. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy within a defined territory that aligns with PWS' overall business objectives including identifying target markets and creating sales tactics for promoting PWS' products and services. This role reports to the Sales Manager and has no direct reports. Essential Functions • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads. • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs. • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs. • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale. • Maintains and communicates with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest. • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems. • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts. • Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility The Outside Sales Account Manager position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for those in the entry level sales or customer service roles. Work Environment This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. This job requires a high-level of customer interaction. Physical Demands This is a largely mobile role with periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer as well as driving within the territory. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. or more at times and walk unassisted for customer plant tours which may include stairs. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Travel 50 to 75% within territory is expected for this position. Education, Experience & Certification Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business, or related field preferred, or a comparable equivalent number of years of experience, plus five years of sales experience required.
