PAY RATE: $738.68 - $2462.26, depending upon approved previous experience
POSITION DUTIES:
Evaluate student vocal and instrumental talent during auditions to assist with casting and pit band placement.
Run regular vocal rehearsals with the cast and separate instrumental rehearsals with the student pit band.
Instruct students on vocal techniques, sight-reading, rhythm, and basic music theory concepts required for the score.
Combine the student pit band and the onstage cast during technical and dress rehearsals to balance sound levels.
Direct and cue the student pit band from the keyboard during all live show runs.
Work closely with the Director and Choreographer to align musical pacing with acting and dance numbers.
Simplify or transpose complex musical arrangements to match the skill levels and vocal ranges of high school students.
