About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services for clients in our Roanoke and Manassas, VA service areas. This role is based out of our Rosslyn, VA office and is responsible for scheduling, dispatching, and tracking transportation requests to ensure timely, safe, and compliant service for patients. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple calls and priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls and dispatch requests for medical transportation services covering the Roanoke and Manassas, VA regions Schedule, assign, and coordinate driver routes and trip logistics to ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs Monitor real-time trip status and proactively communicate delays, cancellations, or route changes to drivers and clients Maintain accurate records of trips, client information, and driver logs in the dispatch system Respond to client and driver inquiries professionally, resolving issues or escalating as needed Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable transportation regulations when handling client information Coordinate with drivers, facilities, and healthcare providers to confirm appointment times and transportation needs Complete required initial training in Roanoke, VA before transitioning to full-time dispatch duties from the Rosslyn office
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Prior dispatch, call center, customer service, or transportation coordination experience preferred Strong verbal communication and active listening skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment Comfortable using dispatch software, CRM systems, and standard office technology Understanding of or willingness to learn HIPAA guidelines and NEMT industry standards Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus Must be able to work in-office in Rosslyn, VA and travel to Roanoke, VA for initial training Training & Relocation The selected candidate will initially be based in Roanoke, Virginia, for approximately one month of on-the-job training. During the training period, Tedla Corporation can provide company housing at no cost if the employee chooses to utilize it. Upon successful completion of the training, the employee will be relocated to Arlington, Virginia, where they will work from Tedla Corporation's new office location. Additional Income Opportunity If they choose, the employee may also use their personal vehicle to participate in Tedla Corporation's Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) operations. This provides an opportunity to earn additional income beyond their dispatcher compensation.
