Position Overview: A premier motorsports organization is seeking three experienced Engine Assemblers/Buildersto join its high-performance powertrain team in Santa Clarita, California. This hands-on role is responsible for the assembly, rebuild, inspection, testing, and maintenance of cutting-edge racing engines, hybrid systems, and powertrain components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering world-class performance, reliability, and durability in a competitive racing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Assemble, rebuild, service, and maintain high-performance racing engines, hybrid systems, and powertrain assemblies to exact specifications. Perform complete engine teardowns, inspections, precision measurements, and component evaluations. Conduct detailed quality inspections and document findings to ensure compliance with engineering, manufacturing, and performance standards. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hybrid system issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective action activities. Assist with engine installation, dyno preparation, testing activities, and post-test inspections. Maintain accurate records of engine build history, component measurements, maintenance activities, and test results. Collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and performance specialists to improve powertrain performance, reliability, and serviceability. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly processes, quality standards, and operational efficiency. Train and mentor junior team members on assembly techniques, inspection procedures, and best practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Required High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in automotive, powertrain, engine, diesel, performance vehicle, racing, or related mechanical maintenance and repair environments. Strong understanding of internal combustion engine systems, driveline components, fuel systems, and cooling systems. Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and other inspection tools. Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, service manuals, and wiring diagrams. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Automotive Technology degree, vocational training, or technical certification. Motorsports, racing, performance engine, dyno, or hybrid vehicle experience. Experience supporting engine development, tuning activities, and powertrain testing programs. Familiarity with hybrid powertrain technologies and associated electrical systems. Experience analyzing performance data, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
